About Empty Bowls
The Empty Bowls Project is an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. Since 1990, Empty Bowls Dinners have taken place in cities all over. Attendees choose a handcrafted bowl and in it, enjoy soup donated and served by local restaurants along with bread and desserts. Guests take home their pottery bowl as a reminder of the hunger that affects so many, even in our own community.
In St. Paul’s first five years as host of the Lititz event, we’ve raised more than $50,000 for local charities that fight hunger, and the event continues to grow.
