Today’s sermon was given by Vicar Emmy Schreiber (a Vicar is an intern pastor!).
Mountains can preach quite a sermon as the present us with such majesty and beauty. Preaching on Micah 6, Vicar Emmy reflects on how mountains seem to offer us something our world lacks right now — peace, calm and a chance for reflection. In Micah, the people have exchanged true worship – the dynamic combination of restful sabbath and humble service to the neighbor – which mechanical worship. They need the mountaintop time, the time of real renewal and re-creation. For only when we rest and find refuge in God can we seek to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with God.”
