At this very moment, you are dying. This is a biological fact! Yet, you are also very much living as well. It turns out, both biologically and biblically, living and dying are overlapping realities, not two states of one’s existence.
Pastor Rob explores Paul’s metaphor of “We have this treasure in clay jars” (2 Corinthians 4:7) to unpack this idea that we are living and dying at the same time. Furthermore, this metaphor helps us understand how Lenten spiritual disciplines work, getting at the necessarily vulnerability embedded within Lent and spiritual renewal.
