Meal for kids: helping and receiving
Updated: March 25, 2020.
What a successful first week! Thanks to your generosity, the team was able to provide over 206 bags of food!
The Warwick School District is putting together basic meals while schools are shut down.
Here is what we are planning and this is how you and your congregation/organization can help.  Each week we will email out a simple “menu” of items we will collect as donations to create “grab bags” for folks to pick up at three locations strategically placed to optimize our reach.
Food items can then be dropped off at Lititz Church of the Brethren (300 W. Orange St. Lititz) on Friday from 7am to 12pm. Volunteers there will then organize the bags and have them ready for pick-up on Saturday morning to be distributed to our drive-thru locations.
These locations include:
  • Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Rothsville at 36 Church St, Lititz, PA 17543
  • Brickerville United Lutheran Church in Brickerville at 340 E 28th Division Hwy, Lititz, PA 17543
  • Lititz Mennonite Church in Lititz at 165 Front St, Lititz, PA 17543
Families in the community will have the option to pick up food each Saturday from 10am through 12pm at these three locations. Each church will need volunteers to help hand out the food.

This week, the items we are collecting are as follows (items needed for Saturday, March 28th):
– Hot Dogs

– Bread
– Canned Veggies
– Mac and Cheese (Boxed with sauce)
The items being collected next week for Saturday April 4th include:
– Tortillas
– Canned Black Beans
– Bag of shredded cheese
– Bag of lettuce
– Salsa (mild)
– Bag of tortilla chips

The school has emailed this information to the students and families. We’ve asked that the families RSVP to help us be best prepared. Families can visit or they can call (717) 626-5332 x91 and leave a message.

Thank you for your help and assistance!
